Saying Goodbye to Benaya

Updated: Jun 7

By Claire Englander, School News Editor

What have you loved most about working at Barrack?

I have loved the people; students, and staff, and the turtles in the pond.

What are Barrack’s greatest strengths?

The atmosphere, which is both warm and welcoming, and the space we get as teachers to create our own learning experiences.

What do you hope will stay at Barrack even after you’re gone?

Speakers from Israel coming in person to engage with the students, and Lag Ba'Omer bonfires and archery.

What has been your favorite holiday to celebrate at Barrack?

Tu Bishvat, with the tree at the entrance, Rosh Chodesh with my colleagues, and of course Yom Ha'atzmaut.

If you could pass on any wisdom to Barrack students, what would you share?

Most things you will remember from school are not happening in the classroom.

What guidance would you offer to a new person in your position?

Start by learning from the amazing team the school has, and then think out of the box on how to bring new spirit.
