Alice in Wonderland; A Wonderful Experience for All

By Taylor Brady, Staff Writer

Alice In Wonderland, the upper school student-directed play was a wonderful experience. The experience began in December of 2023 when emails about the auditions were sent out. I was so excited because Alice in Wonderland is my favorite Disney movie. Auditions went well, and I got cast as the Duchess. Rehearsals were fun and lasted about two hours on varying school days. We usually rehearsed in the Dining Commons or the Beit Midrash because the Auditorium was being used. The play directors, Liana Matez and Ella Abromowitz were some of the best directors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They were kind but also strict and knew how to get things done.

The performances were on February 4th through 6th. Every performance had at least ¾ of the auditorium filled with spectators. One of the show's greatest strengths was our set and props. Sometimes, on Sundays, we would come in and help build the bench used in the Humpty Dumpty scene and paint the walls used for moving around the stage. Overall, I had a great time working with the cast and crew and cannot wait for next year!
